July 2025 13

The National Center for Non-Profit Sector (NCNP) announced the release of its 2024 Annual report in which it highlights the performance indicators of the non-profit sector in line with Saudi Vision 2030, the status of approved initiatives, the state of the non-profit sector in 2024, and the stakeholders driving its development.

The report revealed that the non-profit sector successfully reached one million volunteers, achieving this target six years ahead of the Vision 2030 deadline. Additionally, the sector saw a 252% growth in the number of non-profit organizations, with 92% of these organizations specialized in supporting developmental priorities. The non-profit sector also contributed 0.99% to the GDP, while the percentage of workers in the sector exceeded 0.64% of the total workforce.

As a part of efforts to empower non-profit organizations to deliver deeper impact, the report indicated that the beneficiary satisfaction rate exceeded 88%, while developmental spending accounted for more than 75% of the sector’s total expenditure.

Moreover, The NCNP highlighted the signing of more than 20 local and 3 international partnerships. It also reported a significant reduction in the time required to establish organizations, cutting the process from 34 days to 20 business days. Furthermore, the NCNP trained and qualified 30,000 non-profit sector workers and launched a social investment fund worth SAR 500 million to support developmental projects for charitable associations, enabling them to invest and achieve financial sustainability.

In the context of creating an empowering atmosphere for the sector, the report pointed out to the Cabinet’s approval of the Fundraising Law and the NCNP’s issuance and adoption of several regulatory and executive bylaws. It also underscored the NCNP’s work in enhancing communication and raising public awareness, earning an 88% score for the quality of its website content from the Digital Government Authority and an 83% satisfaction rate among users of its services.

In terms of financial and administrative oversight, the report highlighted the launch of a self-assessment service and the automation of governance evaluation standards for previously assessed organizations. It also highlighted the activation of the financial integrity standard and noted that the number of government bodies providing technical supervision to non-profit organizations has reached 30 entities.

The release of the report coincides with the fourth anniversary of the NCNP’s establishment as one of the initiatives under the National Transformation Program. The non-profit sector, which operates under the "Ambitious Nation" pillar, continues to grow rapidly with the support of visionary leadership and the collaborative efforts of the NCNP, government entities, and the non-profit sector, aiming to achieve broader and more sustainable national development impacts.
