National Center for Non-Profit Sector Launches “Volunteering is Our Nature” Campaign during Hajj Season 1446 AH
June 2025 02

The National Center for Non-Profit Sector (NCNP) has launched a media campaign under the slogan “Volunteering is Our Nature” to raise awareness about volunteerism, especially during the Hajj season. The slogan captures the deep spirit of generosity embedded in Saudi Arabia’s local culture, founded on the values of hospitality, solidarity, and cooperation. It reflects volunteerism as a natural part of Saudi society, an essential element of national identity and a treasured social tradition.

The NCNP aims to mobilize 25,000 volunteers for the Hajj season of 1446 AH, building on the success of the previous year. During Hajj 1445 AH, the target was set at 20,000 volunteers, yet the actual number surpassed 27,000. This year, the NCNP has strengthened volunteer readiness by training over 12,000 individuals through more than 400 workshops focused on volunteering, providing a total of 1,300 training hours to better support pilgrims’ services.

The NCNP also affirmed the readiness of the non-profit sector to contribute to the success of Hajj 1446 AH, with 87 non-profit organizations participating in providing food services to pilgrims. These organizations operate under the supervision of the Rifadah and Siqayah Committee (RSC), which includes nine specialized government entities. The RSC is responsible for regulating non-profit activities related to food and beverage services, overseeing operations, allocating service locations within the holy sites, and establishing participation criteria for non-profit organizations during the Hajj season.

Additionally, the NCNP is actively participating in the implementation of the Security Path Plan, aimed at limiting the presence of irregular pilgrims and managing those who arrive at the holy sites. The NCNP leads this initiative in collaboration with relevant government bodies, including supervisory units from the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing and the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture. Together, they oversee the field operations of participating non-profit organizations, which are currently providing essential supplies, such as water and dry meals, at designated drop-off points for violators in the governorates of Jeddah and Taif.

It is worth noting that, as of December last year, the number of volunteers in Saudi Arabia reached 1.2 million, an achievement accomplished six years ahead of the Saudi Vision 2030 target. This milestone further underscores the message of the NCNP’s “Volunteering is Our Nature” campaign launched for Hajj 1446 AH.
