The National Center for Non-Profit Sector Development Signs MoU with Asian Venture Philanthropy Network (AVPN)

The National Center for Nonprofit Sector (NCNP) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Asian Venture Philanthropy Network (AVPN) to deepen cooperation in their respective areas of expertise, establish a framework for joint initiatives, and build capacity for the mutual benefit of both parties.
Under the MoU, both parties will collaborate to build a network of strategic partners supporting joint initiatives, develop mechanisms that promote the growth and sustainability of the nonprofit sector, and conduct joint studies and research on the sector’s impact on sustainable development. The MoU also covers designing joint training programs and workshops to enhance the skills of nonprofit professionals, organizing collaborative events to achieve shared goals and exchange global best practices, facilitating the membership of Saudi nonprofit organizations in AVPN, and preparing regular reports on local nonprofits joining the network.
This partnership comes at a time of rapid growth in Saudi Arabia’s nonprofit sector. Aligned with its mandate, the NCNP is dedicated to developing, regulating, and empowering nonprofit organizations, expanding their development contributions, unifying government efforts to license these organizations, overseeing the sector’s financial and administrative governance, and strengthening coordination and support.
In 2024, the NCNP saw a significant increase in the number of agreements signed with partners advancing the nonprofit sector, surpassing 20 collaborations with entities across the public, private, and nonprofit sectors. These efforts form part of the NCNP’s broader strategy to lead the sector and assess its developmental impact within the national development framework.
