The National Center for Non-Profit Sector Signs Cooperation Agreement with Strategic Office for Developing Al Baha Region and MoU with Qassim University

The National Center for Non-Profit Sector (NCNP) has signed a cooperation agreement with the Strategic Office for Developing Al Baha Region and a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Qassim University, as part of its ongoing drive to strengthen the Kingdom’s non-profit sector by fostering integration with all stakeholders contributing to its growth.
The agreement concluded with the Strategic Office for Developing Al Baha Region aims to enhance collaboration between the two sides, improve coordination, and align efforts within their respective mandates. It also sets a framework for joint activities and duties, including identifying development targets for the sector in Al Baha, supporting local non-profit organizations, developing social investment and volunteer programs, forming a joint task force to assess the region’s development needs, and designing sustainable solutions that the sector can deliver. The partnership also covers training professionals in social investment and volunteer management, joint participation in relevant events and forums, organizing workshops on government support programs, and media cooperation.
On the other hand, the MoU with Qassim University focuses on building the capabilities of non-profit sector professionals through training and academic services, conducting studies, and collaborating on events. It seeks to leverage the expertise of both parties to advance sector development, drive social innovation, promote professional and knowledge-based growth, undertake research and surveys, and host joint events that encourage stronger partnerships across the non-profit ecosystem.
This partnership comes at a time of rapid growth in Saudi Arabia’s nonprofit sector. Aligned with its mandate, the NCNP is dedicated to developing, regulating, and empowering nonprofit organizations, expanding their development contributions, unifying government efforts to license these organizations, overseeing the sector’s financial and administrative governance, and strengthening coordination and support.
In 2024, the NCNP saw a significant increase in the number of agreements signed with partners advancing the nonprofit sector, surpassing 20 collaborations with entities across the public, private, and nonprofit sectors. These efforts form part of the NCNP’s broader strategy to lead the nonprofit sector and assess its developmental impact within the national development framework.
